Lupin the III (Third). It's a fantastic heist anime, though the second (red jacket) series is the best out of all of them, check out "Castle Cagliostro", it was made by Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, etc.). Castle is a movie that really will show whether or not you will like the TV show, as it's a great summary of how the plot generally works.
To me it was worth it for the relationship between Ellie and Carl. Her adventure book--at the end--made me cry. (I'm such a softie nowadays).
Exactly! Though I tend to be one where a lot of excuses for a storyline pass with me. I just....was never too incredibly interested in seeing it. Except for the fact that he had to invent a camera to film it, which is pretty cool--I'll admit.

Dude, I can completely relate with that. One-sided relationships are no bueno. Been caught up in one or two of those in my life, and it's just shitty. Good call on your part. There's a saying that goes something like, "It's easier to pull someone off of a table than it is to pull someone onto one," if that makes sense to you.
Also, having a family who despises you sucks a big one. Crystal's mom was a total fucking bitch to me the entire time Crystal and I were dating. Fuck that whore. Anybody who can't look beneath the surface to divine a person's true character can eat a big fucking dick.
