End of Days for Blockbuster

Mark this day for it is the beginning of the end for Blockbuster.

We all know that they've been dying lately cause of netflix and the mail order buisness being better but they've just shot themselves in the heel with this one. They've reimplemented the late fees tax.

i went to BB earlier to maybe pick up a game cause I've just got a bunch of clean up achievements left to do and i wanted something new. Grabbed Need for Speed Shift cause it seems like an ok game for achievements. went up to pay and the clerk mentioned this to me.

"All game rentals are 5 days only, [this is normal ever since 60$ games came about] and every day after that they would charge .99 cents every day until it was returned."

FUCK THAT! Blockbuster's game rentals has been my friend in the past since they started the 6.99 rental for 5 days and then one week to return with no penalties. over the years it's grown to 8.99 and I just got a little aggravated at the cash register and pay up to keep the game for 12 days, that's under 75 cents a day. Now with the bullshit that is late fees returning it comes out to 1.80 a day.

Fuck off Blockbuster, you've just destroyed your own life support.

I only ever used Blockbuster for games twice, and that was back when I had a Sega Megadrive and an N64. But yes, that's a total dickmove, I'd never use them again if they pulled that sort of shit on me. Postal game rental services are much better

I started buying and then selling on games from eBay. It was a pretty good system until the postal service shot themselves in the foot with a postal strike.

I hear you loud and clear, it's starting to get really ridiculous now with Blockbuster these days that I too am considering about getting my games elsewhere and GameFly is at the top of the list. First it's no late fees and you can take them back even after 5 days before that crazy restocking fee...(which I'm guilty as charged cause I did those kind of things myself) and NOW they're pulling the same shenanigans that got them a lawsuit over late fees...When will they ever learn???
