Magical and Revolutionary?

The iPad can't even multi-task or run flash, or take pictures, or do anything that my handy iPhone can't already do.

Fail. If you're at all excited about the new crap from Apple you're just a dirty, smelly fanboy.

Illinoise

So last night this morning, at about 4:30am, the neighbors decided it would be an awesome idea to play some techno/house with the bass and volume both at their maximum. Needing to be awake at 8:30 this morning, Nicole and I agreed this situation was, in fact, not awesome. So I walked up to their door and gave it a knock, ready to dispense with the stern yet polite request to "turn that shit down so we at the very least don't feel our skulls vibrating". Knock knock. Nothing. Knock knock knock knock knock. Nothing. Okay.... Slam slam slam. Nope. Their music is so fucking loud they can't hear me pounding the shit out of their door. After about 10 minutes of this we get fed up with all the nonsense and it's time for the kiddie gloves to come off. Sorry neighbors, but I draw the line at being kept up til 5am.
All of the apartment building's units' circuit breakers are conveniently located in the closet right next to Nic's apartment. And all the breakers are conveniently labeled with their corresponding units. Lights out, assholes.
Best part is I totally forgot to switch it back on before leaving this morning, so they got to spend the entire day shrouded in bitter darkness. Serves them right for a) being way too loud at a completely inappropriate hour, and b) being too dumb to look and see if they might have blown their breakers and switching it back on themselves.

Justice hath reared its mighty head.

Goodbye, 2009

Hello, 2010. Our most futuristic sounding year yet.

Hope everyone brings in the new year with some class and style.
Or vomit and tears.
Just as fun.

Things and stuff.

Hey hey. What's up?

I am still surviving in Chicago. And I am very much loving all of it.

People I talk to back in SoCal keep asking how I am faring in this weather. So far, so good. I understand it's probably going to get worse... a lot worse... the wind and snow and stuff will be interesting... but I must say that for the most part thus far I have been doing very well. My only real issue to be honest is my complete lack of real winter clothes. Like, a coat. I could really use one of those. I also need better layering clothes. I'm new to this whole "layering" thing. I'll get the hang of it.

Another thing that's requiring some getting used to is the fact that I'm still living like a total bum. I have not found a job yet, and my bank account is now reflecting that. I really need to start working ASAP. Finding something suitable has proven to be particularly challenging. My apartment is still completely empty. I swear that if the maintenance guy ever shows up he's going to think I'm just squatting in the place. I look forward to furnishing my home and having the rest of my belongings shipped out to me from CA. I miss some of my stuff. But I don't really have places to put my stuff either, so I guess it's good that I don't have it for now.

Other than that, I still rate things as a phenomenal awesome. I love hanging out with Nicole and Amanda. Earlier we went to this craft fair with Tim and there was some awesome stuff there that I couldn't buy. I am getting more acquainted with my area each day and there are a lot of places I want to go explore and check out.

Summary: I am jobless and poor as shit but still absolutely loving it here.
Also, Nicole and Amanda have the world's largest Christmas tree. Motherfucker is HUGE.

Oh, hai

What's up, kids? Everyone staying safe and as disease free as possible? Good.
I officially live in Chicago now. It's pretty damn awesome.
I moved with a bare minimum of items, mainly just all the clothes I own (which isn't much, really. I NEED to invest in an acceptable winter jacket. Nothing I have from California is going to suffice, unfortunately), my trusty laptop and some DVD's. That's it. Nicole and Amanda have been awesome and are letting me sleep at their place until I can get a bed. That'll be pretty nice to finally own one of those again.
What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? Nic and I are going to her family's in Florida. We are totally going to Universal Studios. Which is really awesome cause I've only ever been to the (real) one in L.A. So it should be awesome. I am also looking forward to Thanksgiving food. I like eating and will do a lot of that.
Once we're back from that Dec. 1 I will hopefully start working so I can afford to buy food of my own and pay rent and stuff. And eventually buy things to furnish my very, very empty apartment. I'm having my TV and Xbox and other such important things shipped to me from where they are currently being held captive, at my dad's, in CA. I miss them dearly.
So all in all, things are going just peachy. Chicago is rad, not too cold yet, and there's lots of shit to do. I've got a lot of cool places to go investigate. If you live around here and want to buy me a drink or some food or something, hit me up. Worrrddddd!

Almost there...

Today there was a little hiccup (read: A HUGE FUCKING MISTAKE ON THE AIRPORT'S SIDE) in the flight out to Chicago. That'll happen tomorrow morning now, not this morning. It's been a bag of really extreme emotions all weekend about the move (no bad emotions, just the typical excited, nervous, anxious, etc. plus, I like REALLY fucking miss my girlfriend damnit) so today really felt like a falcon punch to solar plexus. But it's all good. Range Rover all wood. Do me like you should.

So instead of spending most of the day flying and then living in Chicago I stayed in the OC and finalized plans to have certain things shipped, and watched back to back on tv TWISTER AND DANTE'S PEAK! YEEAH! Now, it's no secret that I'm a fuckin sucker for any and all post-apocalyptic scenario movies. I eat that shit up. I don't care HOW bad the movie is. I. love. that. shit. BUT.. I also keep a very special place in mi corazon for natural disaster films, too. I loves em all. I think I can quote most of Twister, which is pathetic in and of itself, really. But also awesome.

That's really all there is tonight, kids. Endless drivel from the decaying mind of a madman. I wish I was posting this from my new digs in Chicago. I will be tomorrow. And when I do, it will be more awesome than watching it MISS THIS HOUSE, AND MISS THAT HOUSE, AND COME AFTER YOU!
WHOOOSH!

Movin on out

OH HAI

How are you? What have you been up to? If you are currently boxing up all your belongings and getting ready to move in a week then that is just CRAZY because SO AM I

Yessiree boys and girls. In naught but a week's time I'll be moving from SoCal to Chicago. I got an apartment about a block from Wrigley Field and not too far from Nicole (and Amanda). Crazyfuntimes are bound to happen! Huzzah!

So from now til whenever I finally settle in, things like internets will be delegated mainly to iPhone. I'm not really sure how long it'll take to get everything all ready to rock and roll once I'm out there, but when I do... it is on like Donkey Kong, my friends. And if there's one thing giant apes know how to do right, it's party.

Any words of advice from people who've moved cross country before? I'm still not sure yet if I'm driving out there and bringing as much as I can or flying and having only the most necessary things shipped later on. I'm waiting to buy like, real deal winter clothes til I'm there because nothing I buy here in the OC is gonna cut it. I hear it gets pretty cold there or something?

Good luck on the move, me. See all y'all on the other side.
