I am looking to work with people on a film once the summer starts. I am located in The Philly area, but I am willing to travel (on the condition that you put me up for the weekend and reimburse my travel expenses) I have been trained and have access to a wide array of film and video equipment. Heres what I can use and have access to:

HD Panasonic HVX200 Sony Z1U, V1U, A1U Canon XHA1

Grip/Misc Steadicam Flyer Steadicam Pro Vid SK Dolly with Hydraulic Boom Arm and 28' of track Maffer clamps Scissor clamps Baby C-clamps Pipe clamps 90 degree Pigeon plate 5 in 1 flexfill reflector Gold flexfill reflector Silver flexfill reflector C-stands Tripod Digital light meter Digital Zoom Spot Meter
Sound Shotgun Mics Wireless Lavs Fostex DAT recorder PMD solid state recorder
NOTE I am mainly a camera and lighting guy, but I can do some sound. I would prefer not to but I know how.
Message me or respond to this thread if you want to work together. I would be available on the weekends during the summer.
You lucky mother fucker? Well first off you just listed off every bit of equipment I WISH I had access to. (Well I could use the schools DVX100B's and I have a GL-1) But still I am wondering why in gods name you think someone would give you the money to pay for your trip to work on a film that you wanna work on. I am not sure anyone ever told you that film making is NOT free.
But damn dude I would just grab the HVX(Pending you have a P2 Card or a HD), Shotgun Mic on a boom pole(Don't be a wanker just plug it into the camera,Maybe one of the sony or canon camera in case duel camera is needed, leave the fucking monster DAT machine at home), and a light kit. GOOD TO GO!
Basically I am asking to be reimbursed for travel expenses because I can provide the equipment and my services for free. If your located in the Philly or South Jersey area, where I wouldn't have to travel, then no need to reimburse me. You could skip the reimbursement if you just want t give me a ride.
I know filmmaking is not free. I have worked on 16 films in the past year with budgets ranging from $2,000-$4,000,000.
I posted this to let people know, that if they are planning a movie, I want to help. It's not like I'm asking to get paid. As of right now I on movies for the pure love of filmmaking.
I maybe doing something over the summer with my friends. Granted, we wouldn't require something this elaborate of a setup. Since our budget usually consists of $0.

You will never find a film crew with that attitude.
Kroze has spent nearly $5,000 working on our film together. He knew the risks and how hard it would be. Making a film is not about security. It is anything but. To put it plainly, it's a leap into a gorge where you only hope that the rumors of a soft, cushy marshmallow bottom are true.
That being said, if you ever move out to California, drop us a line.
In reply to Bryy, #9: Every film I have worked on has reimbursed me either gas, train fare, or allowed me to crash on their couch. I figured since I am devoting my time and love for filmming to someones project, the least I could ask for is to have my gas reimbursed.
For what he's offering I would think any aspiring film maker would download in his pants at the opportunity. Travel expenses and a couch to sleep on seems extremely generous. I live in CT and if I were making a film I would drive my ass out there, pick him and all his equipment up, drive him to the shoot (at my expense), let him sleep on my couch (I have an air bed too) and I would buy all his food and probably drinks while he was here too.
And assuming he turned out to be as skilled as he says he is, when I dropped him back off I would feel both extremely guilty for taking such advantage of him and extremely grateful for his generosity.
What a nice offer. Good luck Rocket I hope you find the project that appreciates you.
Yeah, that'd be an amazing deal if 1) I had a script 2) Could get me some competent actors 3) Could afford to get you out here.
Perhaps if some of us did team up...*Stares at Kroze*
EDIT: It also helps that there's a local theater that will do shows for bands, film makers, and all that. It's all about getting the creative side of the community to come out and show us what we can do.
Of course, my first project will play there, granted that it comes out decent enough.
Seriously, I'd love to have you come out and help me out, but I'm on the other side of the damn country. And Honestly, it's where you will end up being a lot of the time, if you're serious about film.
But seriously, 35mm? Holy shit. A lot of people would jump on the chance to shoot that, at least, if it wasn't so fucking expensive to shoot.
Yea, 35 is fucking crazy expensive. It would cost about $650 in raw stock and processing to shoot a 3-4 min short. Granted that is if you shoot with a 4:1 ratio
geez, im in over my head then. i advertised a machinima on the bungie forums but i though id check back here to see what i might need. clearly i'm unprepared for this...
A machinima is a lot different then a film. You don't need tons of equipment, all you need is a game, a recorder, and some friends. DOn't think that you are unprepared for something just because you don't have a shitload of equipment. When I first started to work on films, all I had was a tool pouch with some tools in it. 16 films later this is where I'm at.
