Holy Home Entertainment Batman!I fancy myself pretty good at home entertainment setups. To illustrate this, I will share with you two, yes two of my own home entertainment setups. The first is my apartment in the crappy town where I go to graduate school and the second is my famiily's setup back home. I will list the devices, types of a/v cords, and other additional accessories. Two devices are in both locations and the only things I'm leaving out are the device power cords.Apartment Setup Devices -TV -Xbox 360 Elite -Blu-Ray Player -Tivo A/V -4 HDMI cords -HDMI switcher (automatic, self-powered) -Coax Splitter -2 Coax cords -R/L audio RCA cord -2 External speakers -1 Subwoofer -2 speaker cords -Apple USB wall charger Additional Power/Accessories -6 plug wall outlet adapter -Power strip -Ethernet hub -3 ethernet cords -Xbox 360 Intercooler (black) -3 remotes Home Setup Devices -TV -Xbox 360 Elite -Blu-Ray Player -Cable Box -TV Receiver -Bose Media Center -Wii A/V -5 Speaker surround sound -1 Subwoofer -6 speaker cords -1 master speaker cord (to Bose system) -4 HDMI cords -HDMI switcher (automatic, self-powered) -4 optical audio cords -Optical audio switcher -Component A/V cord - 2 R/L audio RCA cords Additional Power/Accessories -(2) 6 plug wall outlet adapters -Xbox 360 Intercooler (black) -Wireless headphones -Wireless keyboard -Logitech Harmony Remote (for 5 remotes) Whew. I think I might be leaving out 3 cords of some sort. From scratch it would probably take me 30 minutes to set up the apartment and most likely 60-90 minutes for the house. To be honest, I still need to get the HDMI switcher for the apartment. I recommend this one. I use it at my house setup. It's awesome, small, automatic (make sure your devices don't attentuate the signal too long for this to work, gotta only be one signal at a time), and self-powered. Here a pic for scale. Also, I really liked Griffons pic of her purse contents and Kylsie's homage to it as well. I think it makes for an awesome/interesting trend. I call on people to post pics of their wallet/purse contents. Guys, you can learn a lot from my skillful hiding of personal info: Driver's license, ID from 2 universities (undergraduate & graduate), debit card, security swipe card (to get in university building after hours), old copy card, public library card, expired Sam's Club card, fraternity membership card, about 8 bucks given to me by my late Great Grandfather (lived to 105), Blockbuster card (haven't been in like 5 years), medical and auto insurance cards, three electronic voting ballot stubs, two "I Voted" stickers, voter registraion card, social security card, coffee shop punch card, 4 restaurant punch cards, record shop punch card, check cashing store punch card (that was like, 3 years ago), four movie ticket stubs, & finally business cards from a hookah lounge, a shisha wholesale company, a vet's office, and a winery/restaurant. Whew. Not much ca$h. Mostly a plastic person now. I gotsta use the papuh more often. DON'T STEAL MY IDENTITY!!!! PLZ+THXU!! |
